The bumpers of the older American Volkswagen Beetles and Karmann Ghia were fitted with luggage racks to improve safety. To give these large bumpers better support, they are attached to the body with additional bars

This protective rubber should be fitted where the bumper beam passes through the bodywork to give a neat finish.

For the Volkswagen Beetle you need 4 pieces for front and rear. For the Karmann Ghia you only need two, because they are only used on the front of the Karmann Ghia.
