Attention! Depending on the equipment with which your vehicle was delivered, it may be necessary to make adjustments to the wiring harness. E.g. trailer hitch or auxiliary heating, but also additional fog lamp, cigarette lighter, radio, brake system.

There were also country-specific changes and versions to the electrical system on vehicles delivered in Germany. Of course, these specifications cannot be taken into account for every wiring harness and make adjustments necessary.

In the case of a restoration, it makes sense to replace the wiring harness completely.
Cables are also subject to an ageing process. Often the cables are also invisible from the outside but within the insulation or sheathing, brittle and defective. With the test lamp you can measure a continuity, but under load no current flows any more, because the cable ends touch each other like two brush ends held against each other. Such conditions can also lead to a cable fire. Often, wiring harnesses and their cables are defective due to welding work on the adjacent body or due to chemical processes such as battery vapours or oil and petrol. 
The ageing process also increases the resistance in the cables. People often think that the light burns so badly on 6-volt vehicles, but if you only replace the wiring harness, the light is suddenly much brighter. 
You never know the life of a vehicle. Once something has been incorrectly connected or short-circuited in the past, many wiring harnesses are already "burnt out". Many plug connections and cable lugs are also often corroded and bent out of shape.
Therefore, true to the motto "safety first", replace the wiring harness without further ado.
